Easter, a warm spring, big boy food, and baseball

This Climate Change thing sure is great! The spring of 2012 started real early and we loved every minute it. It sure felt good being able to get Fred outside to play in March without having to bundle him up. We have been on many long (in time) walks, spent many hours coloring with sidewalk chalk, and blowing the occasional bubble.

Easter was very nice this year. Our North Carolina family drove up for a few days. Fred had a great time playing with his cousin Alexa, Uncle Joe and Aunt Kim. We went to Easter Mass at OLP and Nonna and Pops came along. Then they came back to our house for a quick Easter egg hunt. Freddy enjoyed picking up an egg, opening it, then moving on to the next egg. Good thing he was the only one participating!

After the hunt we went down to Boppa's house for an Easter dinner with all of the Krygier family. It was nice to have all the Krygier's together!

We took the boys to their first baseball game of the season against the Angels.  Joe took 'a long' lunch one Thursday in April to enjoy the sunshine (sitting in the shade) and watching some good baseball (only the Angels).  We all had a good time.  Francis slept through most of the game and Fred did a great job of being Fred!

Francis has started eating Big Boy Food!  The little guys eats it up - mostly the rice cereal and any type of veggie gerber product.  He loves to try to grab the spoon and guide the good into his mouth himself.  One can only imagine what the outcome of that is!

St. Patrick's Day 2012

High 70's and sunny on St Patrick's Day in Minnesota is pretty much unheard of, but wearing green, having some Irish whiskey, and spending time with family and friends is pretty much a given!

We celebrated Pops, Jeanne and Luke's birthday over Nonna and Pops' house. It was a fun time for everyone. The kids were all over the house and outside, while the guys enjoyed a glass of Jameson and a few Irish beers.

After the birthday celebration we went to Cecil's Deli in St Paul for a sandwich with the Eidens. Is there a better Irish tradition then having a sandwich at a Jewish deli? To be honest we had a terrible experience at Cecil's, which was a first. We waited over an hour for our food. Apparently St Patrick's Day is one of their busiest nights of the year. You would think they would maybe have more than two servers working, huh??? Once we finally got our food we were so ready to eat a tasty warm sandwich, but nope. Not good. Not warm! To top things off poor little Ollie got sick. Next year we will not be heading back.

Francis' Baptism

The Family

On Sunday February 19, 2012 Francis Hugh was baptized at Our Lady of Peace Church. His godparents are John Ross and Lerah McCullough and Fr Paul was the presided over the service.

It was a real nice celebration for Francis. Fr. Paul treated the mass as it was for Francis and the little girl who was also being baptized. Francis and Freddy did great during the service, for the most part. Francis decided to get a bit vocal a few times. It was his mass so he had every right to do it!

After the service we all went to Cafe Levain for some food and good company.
